  1. Hi,
As an Usborne Organiser and recently finding your Knitbone Pepper books very popular with my customers, I was wondering if you had anymore plans for another book to add to this series?
One girl has read your series 2 already and her Mum has only just bought them from me she absolutely loves the stories.
    Many Thanks
    Claire Scott

  2. Hello Claire, I’m very pleased to hear this and thank you! Yes, the fourth book in the series is coming out on April in April 2019, called ‘Knitbone Pepper and the Silver Phantom’. This one is about Martin’s special person – Winnie’s grandfather. Do say hello to the little girl concerned for me won’t you and tell her i’m really pleased she loves them.
    Warmest wishes
    Claire ( also!)

  3. So glad to hear your doing another book in the series. I bought a signed copy of the last circus tiger at a local bookshop. Our son loved it so I went searching for others, he was gutted when I told him we’d read them all.
His favourite character is Orlando, which is funny as its our surname too. 😊It really has given him a love of stories. (Which I’m greatful for, as I couldn’t take much more of the dinosaur encyclopedia. The names are impossible to pronounce!😂)

  4. Hello Suzanne and Vito! That’s so lovely to hear and thank you for letting me know, it means a lot. The fourth in the series is out on the 4th of April ( have you read the 3rd A Horse Called Moon by the way?) so there’s a whole new adventure coming. And your name is Orlando? How perfect!🐒 X

  5. We are very excited about the new book, Knitbone has been the best thing that we have read together, and Lottie is waiting very patiently for April! We have it on countdown! X

  6. Hello 🙂
I wanted to thank you for writing such an incredible book. I am mum to two wonderful children and we are unfortunately approaching our lovely dogs golden years. Your story has not only opened a gentle dialogue about what comes after but also had us rolling about in stitches when the writing takes us by surprise.
One day I will write my own story and I can only hope that it holds half the style, character and wit of yours 🙂

  7. Dear Hannah, what a beautiful message. I’m very touched that Knitbone is helping and making you laugh. Thank you for your generous words. Warmest wishes to you, your children and those golden oldie dogs. See you on the bookshelves x

  8. Woof woof 🐶,
I’m a Teaching Assistant at a Primary School and was lucky enough to sit in on your visit to some Year 5 & 6 children. I’m so pleased I got the opportunity 😊 your books are beautiful we’ve bought the first two for my animal mad 9 year old daughter Grace, who adores all creatures great and small . Upon our journey home from school we had to divert via the local book shop as my 11 year old son James who is too cool for school and footy mad wanted the first book and the Picklewitch and Jack book, I’m delighted as books that he enjoys are a thing that are few and far between! Thank for for inspiring him, and for bringing such beautiful books into existence I can’t wait to read them all , much love to you and all your four legged and two legged friends Sweetpea Smith 💐xxxx

  9. 😁😁😁 What a lovely message – thank you very much! They were such a fun audience. I hope Grace and James (VERY pleased he liked the sound of P&J) enjoy their books as much as I enjoyed writing them.

I’ve read all the knitbone pepper books and they are my favourite books ever please make more please with a cherry on top.

  13. Hello James! I’m so happy you love the Knitbone Pepper series. No more are planned just for now, but why don’t you make your own new Knitbone story up? What animals do you think should be next? I’d love to hear your ideas 😀📚🐾🐾🐾

  14. Hello Claire,
You came to my school and I bought a signed book from you. I really enjoyed it so I bought your second book. I sadly forgot about them for a while re, but recently I went to go and read them again and I got really into them. I bought the whole collection and as soon as they arrived I was sat on my bed with my dog enjoying the thrilling tales of Knitbone’s adventures. I hope you haven’t finished the series as I would love to read more of them !

    Jocelyn x
    P.S.
Maybe you could do Santa and one of his reindeer beloveds ?

  15. Hello Jocelyn, I’m SO delighted you have been enjoying Knitbone’s adventures. I’m afraid no more are planned for now, although one day i would like to write Orlando’s story. I found your idea for Father Christmas and a reindeer Beloved very interesting because I actually did start writing this very story a couple of years ago… maybe it will find its way onto the shelf one day. In the meantime maybe you could check out my Picklewitch and Jack series? It’s funny and magic too and there are two in the series, with another coming out next year. Take care, Claire x

  17. Hello, my name is Johanna Feiler, I`m eight years old and I am from Germany. I love your books very much, most of all Jack and Picklewitch- in Germany they are called “Paul and die Klettenhexe”. I really adore Klarinde because she is so funny. I have already read three books so far and now I would like to know if you are planning to write another one. This would be wonderful. And if there’s a new book, when will it be available in Germany? And I would also like to know if you have any other books for children?
I’m looking forward to hearing from you, thanks a lot! Yours Johanna

  18. Dear Johanna, thank you for writing to me. it makes me very happy that you love Klarinde. She’s fun isn’t she? Naughty, but brave and loyal. Sadly I do not have plans to write more just yet, but I’m hoping the publishers will ask me to. I have lots more adventures for her and Paul in my head 😀 while you are waiting, I do have another series, which in Germany is called Pelle Von Pimpernell (Knitbone Pepper in the UK). There are five in that series, so if you like them you will have plenty to read. I must say that your English is extremely good. Picklewitch says it is ‘whizz-cracking’! Yours, Claire

  19. Hi Claire,

I just wanted to say a massive thank you for visiting our school yesterday. The children absolutely loved it and have been chatting lots about ‘Beloveds’. So much so that we have had a whole morning designing our own ‘Beloved’ and creating the start of our very own story.

Thank you for being so funny and inspiring!

    Mr Dawes
    St Gabriel’s Primary School

  20. Dear Mr Dawes and the children of St Gabriel’s,

I had such a lovely time yesterday. What a terrific school you are. Thank you for your comments and making me so welcome. How marvellous you have been designing your own Beloveds. Although I would expect nothing less from a school that has a rabbit roaming freely! Warmest wishes, Claire P.s My Gabriel says he fully approves of your school name. ‘Knowledge’ as he says, ‘is power’.

  21. Hello Claire,

I just looked you up as my son (7) has loved your picklewitch books so so much and I was interested whether you had any other books.

He hasn’t been a keen reader generally, and struggles to keep engaged with books for too long, but all 3 Picklewitch books have him gripped and make him love reading. No pressure but we’d love if you wrote a 4th book! There is something about the characters that he can’t get enough of and he even writes notes and cards now as if he is picklewitch!

I am very excited to see that you have another series, so we will definitely give those a go!

Thank you so for your wonderful stories.

    Jess

  22. Hello Jess, what a lovely message! I’m so please your son has enjoyed Picklewitch’s adventures. I miss her too! I hope he likes the Knitbone Pepper series. There are five of those so plenty to get stuck into. If you had time to leave a Picklewitch review anywhere that would be brilliant.I don’t think many people have heard of her (Knitbone’s in 11 languages) so I love it when she is special to a child. I do love her and her naughty ways! Say hi to your son from me, Jack and Picklewitch xx

  23. Thank you! We’re definitely going to give the knitbone pepper stories a go, hopefully it’ll capture his imagination in the same way:) I’m surprised that more people haven’t heard of Picklewitch, my son was introduced to it by his wonderful yr2 teacher and we always recommend it to his friends. I will happily review where I can and continue to spread the word!
